Program Planning Resources
Written by Richard Boner

Did you miss the May Roundtable? The topic was How to Plan Your Year, and it included a special programming session prepared by BSA and handouts with important dates. If you couldn't attend or just want to share, view the BSA Program Planning Tools online and download these handouts (in Microsoft Word format):

Cub Scout Day Camp 2012
Written by James McClure

Cub Scout Day Camp at Emma Long Metropolitan Park is ALMOST FULL!

Camp will take place June 18-22, 2012 from 8:30am-4:30pm. We're bringing back old favorites like Swimming, BB Guns, Science, Duty to God, and Archery while mixing in some new ideas.  This year's theme is "Digging in the Dirt", so who knows what treasures our Scouts will find…

We want every interested Scout to be able to attend Camp, but have to limit attendance to provide the best possible program.  Please register your Scout now if you want to be sure he has a spot for the fun this Summer.

Volunteers are needed to fill several key positions still, including Archery, Facilities Coordinator, and Walking Den Leaders. Scouts and Venture Crew ages 14 and up are encouraged to volunteer. BSA trained Lifeguards (ages 16 and up) are also required to be on our staff, as our camp is on Lake Austin. A BSA Lifeguard Certification course can be taken the first week of June through the Council.

Registration is open at  bsacac.org! Early Bird Registration cost is only $80, and will go up to $100 on May 18. Don't forget that "tots" and siblings are also welcome to experience camp while a parent volunteers!

For more information, go to armadillocamp.org.
